Good morning precious Christ's Church Family and Friends, This morning we will be gathering together for Launch Pad Prayer at 9:00 a.m. and then our 10:00 a.m. Worship and the Word. The message I am going to be sharing on this 2nd Sunday of Advent I have titled Unwrapping Christmas # 2 – All I Want For Christmas Is PEACE! Come expecting and ready for a fresh move of God as He continues to move in our lives. On Sunday night we will be gathering at 6:00 p.m. for a Christmas Fellowship. The Turn or Burn Youth Cooking Ministry will be making us Hot Chocolate as we fellowship. Bring your favorite dessert or Christmas Cookies and a board game to play together as we gather and fellowship. Here is today's Christmas Devotional. Today's Bible reading is: Matt. 2:13-23; Hosea 11:1; Luke 2:40-52 1 John 3:1 says "See how very much our Father loves us, for He calls us His children, and that is what we are! But the people who belong to this world don't recognize that we are God's children because they don't know Him." Mary and Joseph deeply loved the Child God gave them, even to the point…

Good morning precious Christ's Church Family and Friends, Before I share today's Christmas Devotional I wanted to remind everyone of the funeral service for Verlin Brittlebank that will be held this morning. The visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. followed by the Funeral Service which will begin at 11:00 a.m. Both the visitation and the funeral will be held here at Christ's Church. Today's Bible reading is: Luke 2:21-38; Isaiah 52:9; 60:1,3, 6; Matt. 2:1-12; Isaiah 49:6-7 In Luke 2:11 it says "Today your savior was born in the town of David. He is Christ, the Lord." It was an ordinary night, with ordinary sheep and ordinary shepherds. And were it not for a God who loves to add an "extra" on the front of ordinary, the night would have been forgotten and the shepherds would have slept the night away. When God shows up, the ordinary of our lives is transformed. God dances in the midst of the common! And that night when Jesus was born, I think He did a waltz! Max Lucado in his book The Applause of Heaven described it like this. "The black sky exploded with brightness. Trees that had been shadows jumped into clarity.…

Good morning precious Christ's Church Family and Friends, Before I share the Christmas Devotional I wanted to remind everyone of the funeral service for Verlin Brittlebank. The visitation will be held on Saturday December 4th beginning at 9:30 a.m. followed by the Funeral Service which will begin at 11:00 a.m. Both the visitation and the funeral will be held here at Christ's Church. Today's Bible reading is: Matt. 1:18-24; Luke 2:1, 3-16, 20; Micah 5:2 Matthew 1:24-25 tells us that "Joseph...took to him his wife, and did not know her till she had brought forth her firstborn Son. And He called His name Jesus." Think about Joseph for a few minutes. He ruined his reputation and traded his standing for a pregnant fiancée and an illegitimate son and made the big decision to place God's plan ahead of his own. Rather than make a name for himself, he made a home for Christ. And because he did, a great reward came his way. "He called His name Jesus." Consider the millions who have called on the name of Jesus! And look at the person selected by God to be at the front of the line! Of all the saints, sinners,…
