Luke 19:28: He went on before, going up to Jerusalem. John 11:55: And many went... up to Jerusalem. These two sentences follow closely one after the other... many of us are called to endure--knowing too that there must be much in every life of which He only knows--these two sentences come again and again. So long as we are content to be with the many going up to Jerusalem (doing the usual religious things in the usual ways), our great enemy cares not one bit. But he is on the alert the moment we leave the many and follow the One in His so different way of life, and if we persist, his wrath is aroused. Then come the stinging arrows of the archers (sharp trials of flesh or of spirit or both). "The archers have sorely grieved him and shot at him, and and hated him; but his bow abode in strength, and the arms of his hands were made strong by the hands of the mighty God of Jacob." February 11, 2012 - Saturday Night I've just finished reviewing the new Ladies Bible Study - Nehemiah by Kelly Minter. WOW, WOW, and WOW! I pray no one miss this study, not one minute! It is so rich and leaves you hungering for more of God and desire to serve Him with your whole heart. Nehemiah's heart broke so deeply for the suffering Jews that he left the comfort of his Persion palace to restore their desolate community. Through seven video sessions and in-depth relational Bible Study, Nehemiah will inspire you to listen to what God has put in your heart to do. Let God break your heart for the hurting, because He often uses a breaking heart to restore the broken. I found these 'excuses for not coming to Bible study' humorous (Bible Study Cafe website). ENJOY the humor, but consider not allowing any excuse to come up to miss any of the next 7 weeks of study!! Can you think of at least ten good reasons why you should NOT participate in Bible study? We’ve compiled our list of favorites here. You are welcome to add your own excuses in the comments section below, lets have some fun…

I have always felt sorry for that lion. Lions detest snow, and that lion did not have a sporting chance. But his troubles are over now, and the man has something to teach us. Benaiah must have been one who had trained himself by many small and private disciplines to be ready for anything, even a lion in a pit in time of snow. The snow, of course, made it harder for him too but he did not hesitate. He went down and slew the lion. Quite suddenly in the middle of our ordinary occupations any of us may be face to face with a lion in a pit. It may be in time of snow – in circumstances which make it harder than usual to withstand. BUT WE CAN. The moment we are conscious of the lion (Peter speaks of the devil as a roaring lion in 1 Peter 5:8) the Spirit of God…
